Unfortunately, nearly 1 billion humans are not so lucky and struggle daily to get water at home.

CityTaps' vision is to enable running water to every urban home in the developing world.
To achieve this goal, we create technology and services that enable running water at home in urban areas.

Our IoT & Pay-As-You-Go solution helps ensure the human right to water at home. Water utilities can serve the urban poor sustainably: it restores trust between them and improve the efficiency of the water utility to serve better their subscribers.
The families can access running water in their homes, saving them time and money, and improving their health, while paying for the water service in a simple and convenient way from their phone, at any time, and for any amount.

Our operations take us to Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

Under the hood, CityTaps’ services are built on an IoT stack, including a prepaid and connected smart water meter, a Cloud platform to run the service, and connections to payment platform, utilities IT, etc.

The job
Your job is to ensure the good connectivity between our smart IoT meters and our servers.

You will be responsible for the deployment and operation of our radio networks (LoRaWAN) and the integration of new radio technologies (NB-IoT) and the application protocols.

You will be part of the technical team, report to the CTO and work closely with the tech engineers and the business team.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Deploying and operating LoRaWAN networks for our projects in Africa, South America, Asia
  • Integrating our devices with third party LoRaWAN infrastructures
  • Integrating new devices to our private LoRaWAN networks
  • Monitoring the connectivity of the devices to the CTCloud platform
  • Designing communication protocol evolutions
  • Being CityTaps expert regarding radio and communication specifications and regulations in our project countries
  • Evaluating new radio technologies
  • Supporting the homologation of our radio equipment (device, gateways, etc.) in foreign countries
  • Analysing collected data to improve the service and prevent incidents
  • Providing support to field incidents
  • Preparing and managing clear project plans

We also expect you to come up with ideas to accelerate the development of the project, to bring a positive attitude to the team, and to contribute to the daily life of a startup.

CityTaps’ office are located at Porte d’Orléans, Paris.
You may be asked to visit our clients to learn about their needs and provide support.


Your Profile

  • At ease to work in English, both spoken and written
  • Having experience with LPWAN, LoRaWAN being a plus, product development and network deployment
  • Having experience with IP communications
  • Having basics on antenna design and radio propagation
  • Having basics on data analysis to provide insights from collected data
  • Desire to work on tasks from beginning to end with a small team
  • Organised and team player
  • Focused on the user experience and simplicity over over-engineering
  • Interested in our mission and our social impact in developing countries
